The Southport Police Department has relocated three alligators.
The most recent was captured in a driveway of a Southport home and relocated unharmed to a nearby body of water.
Police say it’s alligator mating season and that has led to the increase in sightings.
They added that the construction and growth around the area are displacing the animals, causing them to look for other places to go.
