‘Bridgerton’ star Ruby Barker hospitalized after ‘mental health struggle’

“Bridgerton” actress Ruby Barker opened up about her “mental health struggle” as she revealed her recent hospitalization.

In a video shared on Instagram Thursday, the 25-year-old said “it’s time to be transparent” and revealed she has been “struggling since ‘Bridgerton.'”

Barker thanked fans and loved ones for taking care of her and extended her gratitude to Netflix for “saving” her.

“I have been really unwell for a really long time,” Barker said. “I want to be honest with everyone. I have been struggling.

“I am in hospital at the minute, and I am going to be discharged soon and hopefully get to continue with my life.”

Barker is best known for her role in the hit romantic drama “Bridgerton,” in which she starred as Marina Thompson. She left followers with an uplifting message in wake of Mental Health Awareness Week in the UK.

“I am going to take a little bit of a break for myself, and I would encourage others, if you are struggling, please do yourself a favor and take a break. Stop being so hard on yourself,” Barker said.

Explaining the root of the problem, Barker said she was “raged-filled” and “angry” and had “intergenerational trauma bundled up inside” of her.

“I was carrying the weight of the world on my back, and now I am at the point where I have a diagnosis, and I will talk to you about that at another time,” she said, adding, “I can’t carry on the way that I’ve been carrying on. I need to change, so that’s what I am trying to do.

“I want to survive, and I will survive. I am going to.”
