The Bowling Green Police Department is asking for help locating a vehicle associated with an unsolved May 1 murder.

The vehicle, police said, is a 2000 or 2001 Toyota Camry with dark tinted windows and a skull sticker on the rear windshield and was “used in the slaying” of 44-year-old Willie E. Bays, of Bowling Green.

Bays was found shot to death inside a building at 19 East 13th Avenue, several hundred feet northwest of the WKU campus, on the afternoon of May 1.

“Due to the circumstances of Bays death, we cast a wide net and began canvassing all throughout the city looking for video surveillance of the vehicle driven by the suspects,” Bowling Green police said. “We located numerous videos showing this vehicle.”

Police added that detectives are “closing in on multiple investigative leads and are confident in the discovery of additional evidence.”

If anyone sees the car, call 911, and do not approach the vehicle.

Anyone with information about this vehicle is asked to call the South Central Kentucky Crime Stoppers at 781-CLUE. Crime Stoppers only wants your information, not your name. Their telephone lines are not recorded and don’t use caller ID. You will remain anonymous.
