The Golden State Warriors have just booked their place in the NBA Finals after taking down the Dallas Mavericks in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals. It's been three years since the Dubs reached this stage, and right now, it's certainly an overwhelming feeling of redemption for Stephen Curry and Co.

After their series-clinching 120-110 win on Thursday, Curry spoke out about a statement he made around this same time last year. Steph said that other teams would not want to face the Warriors next season. Well, Curry and Co. just proved how accurate this statement was:

“It was more a message for us,” Curry said, via Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN. “… Re-establish what Warriors basketball is (after last year’s strong finish before the play-in)… The tone was set that we could be that team again.”

According to Curry, though, the statement was aimed more at the Warriors as opposed to every other team in the NBA. Steph knew that the most important thing was to get everything right within their squad and that the rest will follow. This is exactly how things have gone down for Golden State this season and just they took a major step towards their ultimate goal on Thursday.
