Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks saw their season officially come to a close on Thursday night after they lost Game 5 to the Golden State Warriors, 120-110. It was the end of what turned out to be an epic season for the Mavs and team owner Mark Cuban made sure to send out a special message for the fans right after the game.

Cuban had nothing but appreciation for Mavs fans everywhere after what was a truly memorable campaign:

“Thank you to all @dallasmavs fans. You made this season incredibly special. #MFFL Forever,” Cuban wrote in his tweet.

In case you're a bit out of the loop, #MFFL stands for Mavs Fan For Life. At the end of the day, this is what Cuban is. He may be a billionaire owner of an NBA franchise but deep down, he's just a major fan of his Mavericks. Just like every Dallas fan out there right now, this loss is also a very tough pill to swallow for Cuban.

The Mavs actually put up a good fight in this one as they pushed the Warriors until the very end. Golden State mounted a huge lead but the Mavs would not give up. In the end, Stephen Curry and Co. just had too much firepower for Dallas. Such has been the story of the series and sadly, it's now time to say goodbye for the Mavs.
