The Battle of Alberta continued to live up to the hype.
The Calgary Flames and Edmonton Oilers set an NHL record Thursday for the fastest four goals scored in playoff history, lighting the lamp in 1:11 during the second period of Game 5.
Oilers forward Zach Hyman started the madness with just over five minutes remaining in the frame to give Edmonton its first lead of the contest.
That lead was short-lived, however, as Johnny Gaudreau responded 15 seconds later to even the score at three.
Flames forward Calle Jarnkrok kept the good times rolling with his first goal of the playoffs 16 seconds after Gaudreau.
Not to be outdone, Edmonton defenseman Evan Bouchard fired the equalizer off his stick 40 seconds later.
When the dust settled on the second period, the Flames and Oilers were tied at four.
The Battle of Alberta's four goals in 1:11 is 22 seconds quicker than the second-fastest time in playoff history.

Connor McDavid's goal at the 5:03 mark of the first overtime eliminated the Flames from postseason contention and helped the Oilers secure their first Western Conference Final berth since 2006.
