The Ider Hornets entered the 2022 AHSAA State Softball Tournament after defeating the ASWA No. 2 ranked Pisgah Eagles in the Class 2A East Softball Regional. However, Ider Softball’s state tournament run did not last long.

The tournament took place over two days in Oxford, AL. Ider began the tournament Friday morning, May 20, with an 8-0 loss to Hatton. That afternoon, Ider softball’s 2022 season ended when they fell 6-1 to Luverne in the losers’ bracket.
