Lamar Robert Marcotte, Jr. 87, Mansura

Funeral Mass for Lamar Robert Marcotte, Jr. of Mansura will begin at 11:00am on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Mansura with Fr. Irion St. Romain officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery in Mansura.

Lamar Marcotte, Jr., age 87, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2022 at Riviere de Soleil Community Care Center in Mansura. Mr. Lamar served in the U.S. Air Force for 38 years (active & reserve). With a master’s degree in Education, Mr. Lamar served 40 plus years in education. He was a teacher at Mansura High School. He also served as principal at Mansura Elementary School and Plaucheville High School. After retirement, was a teacher for the Adolescent unit at Central State Hospital. He was also a long-time member of the Mansura Lions Club & long-time member of the Mansura Chamber of Commerce.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Gregory Marcotte of Mansura; granddaughter, Jenna Williams (Jordan) of Punta Gorda, FL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lamar Marcotte, Sr. & Addie Marcotte; wife, Marguerite Marcotte; daughter, Cindy Marcotte Gates; brother, Simeon Marcotte.

Visitation will begin at 5:00pm until 9:00pm on Friday, May 27, 2022 at Escude Funeral Home in Mansura. Visitation will resume at 8:00am until time of service on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Escude Funeral Home.
