Multiple agencies assisted with seizure

Several law enforcement agencies worked together on an arrest that resulted in getting around 2 kilograms of powder cocaine and $42,420 off the streets.Cedrick Earl Evans was arrested Tuesday and charged with aggravated trafficking of a controlled substance. Agents with the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics along with assistance from Homeland Security Investigations, Ridgeland Police and the Hinds County Sheriff's Office conducted the drug trafficking arrest. "We are addressing the illegal narcotics here in Hinds County and we're not doing it alone," said Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones. "We are involving agencies and we have other agencies that are willing to assist in Hinds County as well."The Hinds County Sheriff's Office says their K9 named Nero sniffed out the cocaine. No bond has been set so far for Evans.
