For the entirety of the summer of 2022, the Pittsburgh Penguins will be hyper focused on free agents.

A position of interest for the Pens is backup goalie, as both Casey DeSmith and Louis Domingue are both upcoming unrestricted free agents.

With both of those names most likely finding new homes, the Penguins will have to fill the hole behind Tristan Jarry.

According to national hockey columnist Kevin Allen, the time has never been more perfect for the reunion between the Penguins and Marc-Andre Fleury.

Allen joined the Cook and Joe Show Thursday and said that the pieces could fit for the return.

Fleury still has the skill to be a starter in the NHL and could lead to a solid 1a and 1b situation with the Penguins.

The veteran goalie is finishing a contract that saw him making $7 million annually.

Allen says that Fleury could be acquired for as little as $3 million.
