A national real estate company offering homes online has expanded into Alabama with two projects in and around the Birmingham area.

Century Communities announced its Century Complete brand has broken ground on two community projects - in North Birmingham and Rainbow City in nearby Etowah County.

In addition, the company plans to open an in-person sales studio in Trussville.

Century Complete allows buyers to quickly purchase a new home online, and is planning two single-family communities, offering open-concept layouts starting in the mid-$200,000 price range.

The two communities are:

Westchester in North Birmingham, which offers six different floorplans for three to five-bedroom homes, with two-bay garages, two to three baths, four-sided brick exteriors, and up to 2,376 square feet of space.

Kensington Gardens in Rainbow City, offering three floor plans with full-brick elevations, featuring three to four bedroom homes with two baths, two-bay garages, and up to 1,773 square feet of space.

Century Complete allows customers, through its website, to browse available homes, fill out online forms, electronically submit an initial earnest money deposit and sign a contract.
