American flag stolen from Manchester Health Department
Manchester police are looking for the person who stole the flag from Manchester’s Health and Welfare departments.
A replacement flag was provided by the fire department.
The city's health director said she noticed the flag was missing Wednesday when she went to lower it to half-staff, in honor of the victims of the Texas shooting.
Veteran of the national guard and director of the Manchester Department of Public Health, Anna Thomas, said she takes the theft personally, especially so close to Memorial Day.
“I'm mystified as to what the motive would have been to take such a precious piece of our patriotism,” Thomas said. “I only hope that whoever did that they're treating it with the honor and respect that it deserves, and that they needed it.”
Investigators are reviewing surveillance video.
