Former state Sen. Prescott officially enters 1st District race
Former state senator and executive councilor Russell Prescott is joining the race for the Republican nomination in the 1st Congressional District.
The Kingston Republican told News 9 he wants to bring "commonsense fiscal policy" back to Washington.
Prescott is joining an already crowded field for the GOP primary, but he said he's the only candidate in the race with a record of conservative achievements in office.
"I listen very well," Prescott said. "I take my time to make my decisions, and I want to make sure that everything is bringing New Hampshire forward, because every day, we need to have that responsibility in our life, as well as in our political life, to make people's lives better."
While Prescott is known as more of an establishment Republican, he said he would welcome the endorsement of former President Donald Trump in the race.
