Debi Mazar remembers Ray Liotta’s ‘wicked sense of humor’

Debi Mazar remembered her “Goodfellas” co-star Ray Liotta’s “generosity” and “wicked sense of humor” after his death Thursday at age 67.

The actress, who played Sandy in the 1990 mob classic, shared four photos from the set on Instagram, including one of her and Liotta with director Martin Scorsese and another that featured Gina Mastrogiacomo, who played Liotta’s other girlfriend, Janice Rossi. (Mastrogiacomo died in 2001 at age 39).

“Goodbye Ray,” Mazar, 57, wrote alongside the snaps. “Thankyou for the memories, your generosity at work, your wicked sense of humor, your raw grit&lazer stare [sic].”

Referencing one of Liotta’s prior films, she continued, “You had me at ‘Dominick & Eugene’ One of a kind. .. My condolences to your family. R.I.P @rayliotta 🕊 🕯🕊🕯🕊.”

In “Goodfellas,” Mazar memorably played one of Liotta’s mobster character Henry Hill’s mistresses named Sandy. The two are busted for packaging and selling cocaine in the sprawling drama, which also starred Robert De Niro, Lorraine Bracco and Joe Pesci, who won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Tommy DeVito.
