Pederson eyes benefits of joint practice work in August vs. Falcons

The Jaguars have not took part in joint practices against another NFL team since 2019 when they worked against the Ravens for two practices ahead of their preseason game in Baltimore.

With the NFL halting all aspects of their COVID-19 protocols, Jacksonville will take part in a pair of joint practices on the road against the Atlanta Falcons August 24-25 before their preseason game on August 27 at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

''We know that we're going to get some good work in that three or four days we're there and it just worked out that we can work against each other,'' Coach Doug Pederson said. ''A lot of times you call around and put feelers out for teams and a lot of guys try to stay pretty close to one another, proximity wise, not a huge travel deal. Atlanta’s been a team that has been good and [Falcons Head Coach] Coach [Arthur} Smith and I have a good relationship.''
