Getting ready for the return of the Nunley golf ball

The famed Nunley’s Amusement Park golf ball, which sat high upon the ticket booth near the miniature golf course during the park’s heyday and was lost to obscurity for decades, has completed its trial run last weekend to be placed on top a ten-foot pole outside the Baldwin Historical Society Museum.

With the assistance of the Baldwin Fire Department lending a protective eye and equipment to president of the historical society Gary Farkash, he was able to climb high in the fire department’s cherry picker and practice putting the approximate 8 feet wide and 7 feet tall fiberglass ball in place. This trial run comes after the ball’s restoration done by Farkash in his garage after its re-discovery and purchase from a New Jersey antique shop two years ago.
