Ellen DeGeneres breaks down in tears during final dance with tWitch on very last talk show episode

ELLEN DeGeneres has broken down in tears during her very last talk show episode on Thursday.

The 64-year-old has become overwhelmed with emotions while having her final dance with Stephen "tWitch" Boss on the daytime program.

After 19 seasons, Ellen said goodbye to her talk show on Thursday with her final episode, which included one last dance with tWitch, who has been part of the series since 2014.

The show opened with a look back at the host making her entrance from years prior, before having the comedian walk out for the finale.

Upon entering, she fought back tears as she took in the fact that her show was coming to an end.

Ellen looked out at her cheering audience, taking in their love and support.

After briefly collecting herself, she lost it once again as she called out dancer tWitch to the stage.

Getting choked up, she told fans: “This show has forever changed my life. It is the greatest experience I have ever had.” 

Completely breaking down in tears, she shared that doing this series had gone “beyond [her] wildest imagination.” 

“So, tWitch,” she said. “One last time. Dance with me.”

He came out to more cheers and the pair gathered their strength to fight back their tears and bring the crowd some high-energy dancing.

They traveled all throughout the audience, shimmying and shaking, smiling and laughing.

During the final episode, Ellen also had appearances from Jennifer Aniston, Billie Eilish, and P!nk.

In September 2003, The Ellen Show debuted on television for the first time.

The talk show series was only one year shy of being on-air for 20 years when Ellen Degeneres decided to pull the plug.

On April 28, 2022, Ellen took to social media to reveal that she had filmed the last episode of her show.

The host said via Twitter: "Today we taped the final episode of The Ellen Show which airs on May 26th."

She continued: "When we started this show in 2003, the iPhone didn't exist. Social Media didn't exist. Gay marriage wasn't legal.

"We watched the world change, sometimes for the better, sometimes not."

She added: "But whatever was happening, my goal was always for the show to be a place where we could all come together and laugh for an hour."

"Being invited into your lives has been the greatest privilege of my life and has brought me incredible joy. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you."

A couple of weeks ago, Ellen opened up on her talk show about the end of her long-running program.

The comedian stated: "Today, I have an announcement to make."

"Today, I am announcing that next season, season 19, is going to be my last season."

Ellen continued: "I want you to know that I thought a lot about this decision."

"The point is I need to take a break from talking."

"I always knew in my heart that season 19 would be my last."

Ellen's decision to step down from her talk show follows years of declining ratings and various allegations from staff members surrounding workplace conditions.
