Officials with the Beaufort County Animal Control in Washington said they “desperately need help” with getting dogs out of the shelter.
Spayed and neutered dogs are currently available for a reduced fee of $30. Otherwise, the adoption fee for dogs is $85.
Shelter officials said many of the dogs want to be the only dog, but some are either dog friendly or have not been tested. They don’t test how well the dogs interact with cats.

The shelter is open from 1-5 p.m.
