Jose Mourinho aims cheeky dig at flop Man Utd bosses Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick after bagging another trophy

JOSE MOURINHO has aimed a sly dig at Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick by saying winning at Manchester United is "almost natural".

The now-Roma boss spent two years in charge at Old Trafford, winning two trophies.

Mourinho guided United to League Cup and Europa League glory in 2017 but the club have failed to win any silverware since.

Both Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangick have been unsuccessful in their bid to end the barren spell without a trophy.

Mourinho though reckons winning titles should be "natural" for any United manager.

After winning the Europa Conference League with Roma last night, he said: "As you know I have won European competitions with four different clubs.

"Winning with Manchester United even though it was a Manchester United side that lacked the quality of proper United sides, winning with Manchester United is almost natural."

The 59-year-old suggested his four other European triumphs - two with Porto, plus one apiece with Inter and Roma were better achievements than his Europa League success with United.

Mourinho continued: "Winning the Champions League with Porto is not normal. Bringing joy to people winning the Champions League with Inter.

"Inter is naturally a huge club, but I think it was 50 years since they had won the Champions League and bringing joy to the fans.

"Today winning this competition brings joy to the people as well."

A 1-0 win over Dutch outfit Feyenoord in last night's final was enough for Mourinho to secure his fifth European trophy.

He held five fingers aloft after doing so as he was reduced to tears, reminding the crowd of his repeated success in Europe.

United meanwhile concluded another trophyless season with their worst points tally in Premier League history.

New boss Erik ten Hag has been recruited in the hope of guiding the Red Devils to their first piece of silverware since the Mourinho era.
