Parents in Jefferson Parish received a message regarding a possible school threat made at an area high school Thursday morning. Jefferson Parish School officials confirmed the allegation of a threat at Riverdale High School was called into law enforcement. The school system let parents know of the threat in a message. The message did not what the threat was. Read the message sent to parents below: "The safety and security of our students and employees is our first priority. "This morning we were made aware of an alleged threat against our school. The allegation was called in to a law enforcement agency. The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office immediately began to investigate the legitimacy of the threat. "Although the person calling in the threat gave conflicting information, we take all threats seriously. "JPSO will continue to follow all leads as to the origin of the threat. We will have additional officers on campus. "I certainly understand the anxiety you are experiencing, however we always want to keep you informed.
