UPDATE | The York County Coroner has identified the man killed as 35-year-old Zachary Young. Officials say he had no permanent address and last resided in York.
PREVIOUS COVERAGE | On May 25, shortly after 10 p.m., York City Police were dispatched to the 200 block of W. Jackson St. for claims of a suspicious male trespassing on a known property.
Police say the trespasser confronted by a witness causing him to run away. When the trespasser was fleeing, the witness got the attention of a nearby group to stop him.
The nearby group was able to stop the trespasser and began assaulting him before the group fled from the scene, according to police.
When officers arrived with emergency services they provided treatment. Later, the 35 tear-old man was pronounced deceased at the York Hospital.
Detectives say this is ongoing investigation.
