As the Atlanta Braves prepare to wrap up their first series of the season with the Philadelphia Phillies, in addition to looking to win the four-game set, the Braves will also be looking to win three games in a row for the first time this season.

As the 2022 MLB season has approached the quarter mark, Atlanta finds itself sitting just below .500 at 21-23 and currently holds the second place position in the National League East standings, seven games behind the first place Mets and a game ahead of Philadelphia.

On Thursday, when the Braves take on the Phillies in the fourth and final game of the series, they will be doing so with Kyle Wright scheduled to take the mound. Atlanta currently leads the series 2-1, winning the last two games after dropping the first game of the series. Wright will head into Thursday’s match up at 4-2 on the season having won his last outing when the Braves defeated the Marlins 4-3 on Saturday, with Wright pitching through five innings, allowing two hits, with three walks and six strikeouts.

Along with Max Fried, Wright has been one of the Braves’ best producers on the mound as he and Fried are tied for most wins, while Wright leads the team in ERA at 2.49 and in strikeouts with 56 and pacing to have one of his best seasons to date. Through his eight outings, Wright has struck out six or more batters six times, including an 11-game strikeout performance in Atlanta’s win over Miami back on April 22. He also had two nine-strikeout games.

As Braves manager Brian Snitker, continues to make changes to the lineup in efforts to get some consistent offensive production, his moves of late which has Matt Olson down to middle of the lineup along with William Contreras having solid outings at the plate the past few games and of course, the return of Ronald Acuña Jr., barring any changes. With Wright on the mound Thursday and a solid outing by him, if the Braves stay hot at the plate, Atlanta could finally win three consecutive games for the first time this season and with the Marlins coming to town on Friday, the streak could continue through the weekend.
