Different parades and services will be held on Monday May 30 in observance of Memorial Day, in the Beaver Valley.

A number of Memorial Day parades and services will take place on Monday, Memorial Day.

AMBRIDGE

There will be no parade this year. Instead, there will be a memorial at 11 a.m. in P.J. Caul Park, followed by walking of a wreath down to the Ambridge-Aliquippa Bridge.

BEAVER

The annual Beaver Borough Memorial Day Parade will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Third Street, with a memorial service to follow at the Beaver Cemetery.

All veterans are invited to walk or be driven in the parade, and can meet at the Beaver Borough Building at 9:45 a.m. wearing civvies or a uniform.

There will be a luncheon at the Fort McIntosh Foundation following the parade and service.

BADEN

Baden American Legion Post 641 announced that due to unforeseen circumstances, the annual parade has been canceled.

However, there will still be graveside services at the seven area cemeteries, at 7 a.m., followed by a service at its headquarters at 10 a.m. at 271 State St. in Baden.

BEAVER FALLS

The annual Beaver Falls Memorial Day Parade will begin at 10 a.m.

The parade will march down Seventh Avenue to Lt. Calvin Smith Memorial Park on 11th Street, where there will be a memorial service immediately afterward.

CONWAY

The annual Conway Memorial Day Parade will start at 11:30 a.m., beginning at the borough building at 801 First Ave.

Following the parade, a service will be held at the Conway’s Fallen Heroes monument.

CORAOPOLIS

The Keith-Holmes VFW Post 402, in Coraopolis, will host a Memorial Day Parade at 1:30 p.m. in the borough.

In addition, at 10:30 a.m. May 29, they will host a Memorial Honor Roll event at their headquarters at 412 Mulberry St.

ECONOMY

There will be a Memorial Day service at 9 a.m. at the Economy Borough Veterans Memorial at 1000 Kenneth Campbell Way.

ELLWOOD CITY

The Ellwood City Area Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Memorial Day Parade at 10 a.m.

It will start on the Fifth Street Bridge with a wreath and taps ceremony, with Mary May tossing the wreath.

From there, the parade will go from Fifth Street to Lawrence Avenue, up to Eighth Street, onto Crescent Avenue, then from Lincoln High School, back to Fifth Street, to Legion Park.

North Sewickley Township World War II Guy Prestia, who recently turned 100, will be the grand marshal in the parade.

A memorial ceremony will be held afterward, with the Ellwood City Civic Chorale, and the eighth-grade winners, from both Ellwood and Riverside, will be announced from the annual American Legion Post No. 157 Memorial Day essay contest.

A community picnic will be held afterward at Circle Playground.

FREEDOM

The annual Freedom Memorial Day parade will begin at 9:30 a.m. along Third Avenue.

The Freedom High School band will stop at the Freedom Memorial Monument, with a memorial service to follow at 9:45 a.m. Following the service, the Freedom Volunteer Fire Department will offer snacks and refreshments.

The parade will feature different youth and school sports teams, the Boys Scouts, Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts, and participation from local churches.

There will also be a kids' bicycle decorating contest for any child 12 and younger, with the participants able to ride in the parade. Participants must wear a helmet, and meet at 9 a.m. at the parking lot of office of the District Judge Edward Howe at 559 Third Ave.

HOOKSTOWN

The Hookstown Grange will host its annual Memorial Day Car Cruise from 12-3 p.m. at the Hookstown Fairgrounds.

A parade will be held beforehand coming into the fairgrounds on Route 168 from 10:30 a.m. to noon.

HOPEWELL TWP.

The Memorial Day parade, sponsored by Robert W. Young VFW Post 8805, will begin at 10:30 a.m. at Hopewell Senior High School, 1215 Longvue Ave. The parade will march toward the Hopewell Memorial Junior High School, 2354 Brodhead Road, where a service will begin at 11 a.m.

MONACA

American Legion Post 580 Monacatootha will host the annual Memorial Day Parade in Monaca at 10:30 a.m., beginning at St. John’s Church, continuing down Pennsylvania Avenue, and ending at Veterans Park.

NEW BRIGHTON

The annual Memorial Day Parade in New Brighton will begin at 10 a.m., followed by a memorial service at Townsend Park.

ROCHESTER

The annual parade for Rochester will take place at 10 a.m. It will start at Rochester High School, go down Virginia Avenue, and end at Riverfront Park, followed by a service at Rochester VFW Post 128.

SEWICKLEY

There will be a memorial service at 11 a.m. May 29 at Sewickley United Methodist Church at 337 Broad St.

On Memorial Day, the 129th annual Memorial Day Parade will begin at 10 a.m., followed by a program at Wolcott Park, with a program at Sewickley Cemetery immediately following the previous program.
