35-year-old man killed in central Pa. by group who thought he was trespassing: police

A 35-year-old man was pronounced dead at a York hospital after he was assaulted Tuesday night by a group of people who believed he was trespassing on private property, police said.

York City police said they are investigating the man’s death as a homicide. His identity has not been publicly released as of Thursday morning.

Someone confronted the 35-year-old man around 10:24 p.m. on the 200 block of West Jackson Street, and he ran away. The person who confronted him then alerted the group of people the man was trespassing, police said. The group reportedly ran after the man and started assaulting him.

Police said the group fled the scene before officers arrived. No arrests have been announced as of Thursday.
