Pets of the week: Remy and Nami

Remy is still growing into his ears, but at least he has the superpower of hearing a bag of treats being opened a mile away. Born in 2020, this gorgeous boy is still in the lanky teenager stage with legs that reach your waist. Remy was transferred to MCHS from Fluffy Butts Rescue in Kelseyville a couple of weeks ago and has quickly fit right in here. He is great with other dogs and loves spending time with his new friends in the play yards- he and Poseidon have become BFFs. His mom was a Belgian malinois and his dad a Belgian shepherd, so naturally, he is a very intelligent dog who is food motivated and quick to learn new skills. Remy enjoys being busy and would do well in a home with an active lifestyle. He hasn’t had a ton of social interaction in his previous life, so he can be a bit nervous in new situations and around new people, especially men. However, with some love and patience (and treats), he warms up quickly to new people. Remy’s dream home is with experienced shepherd owners who can take him on adventures and give him the confidence to thrive.

Pet of the week: Nami

Nami is an extremely extroverted and talkative cat who likes to be the center of attention. If she’s not, she will be soon! This outgoing cat enjoys sitting on laps as well as shoulders and will climb on you if she gets an opportunity. She also has time and energy for play and likes to follow you wherever you go. If you’re looking for a cat who acts a little bit like a dog, Nami is your girl. Nami would prefer to be an only child, but she has been with calmer cats in the past and survived. While we don’t think she’s met any dogs, her confidence means she may get along with a careful introduction. Nami is great with people of all ages and is currently making tons of new friends at the Ark thrift store if you’d like to meet her (and pick up some vintage plates)!
