The Los Angeles Clippers' season has been done for well over a month now, but apparently that hasn't stopped Kawhi Leonard from believing in his team's chances at the 2021-22 NBA Championship.

Leonard was seen arriving at LAX on Wednesday morning with his girlfriend — or fiancĂ©e, based on some recent photos — and was asked about his thoughts on the NBA postseason.

TMZ: “Who do you have based on who’s left?”

Kawhi Leonard: “Clippers.”

TMZ: “Who do you think will win the title?”

Kawhi: “Clippers.”

Kawhi Leonard did not play for the Clippers in all of the 2021-22 NBA season as he recovered from surgery on a torn left ACL in Game 4 of the 2021 Western Conference Semifinals vs. the Utah Jazz.

There was speculation all season long as to whether Leonard would be able to return in time for the Clippers' postseason run, but both he and the team ultimately erred on the side of caution after one of the toughest injuries to return from.

The team finished just one win short of a playoff berth, although they did earn an 11th consecutive winning season, finishing with a 42-40 record and eight games ahead of the New Orleans Pelicans. LA then went on to lose its road play-in matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves as well as a home play-in game against the Pelicans without Paul George.

Leonard was in the midst of another legendary playoff run in 2021 before he suffered the ACL injury. In 11 appearances, Kawhi Leonard averaged 30.4 points, 7.7 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 2.1 steals while shooting an absurd 57.3 percent from the field.

It's not a guarantee as of yet, but the expectation is that Kawhi Leonard will be ready for the start of the Clippers' 2022-23 season, including training camp in late September.
