OTSEGO COUNTY, Mich. (WPBN/WGTU) -- People gathered in Gaylord Wednesday evening to pray together for those impacted by the deadly tornado.
Through the doors of St. Mary's Cathedral in Gaylord, about 100 community members sat together.
“We thought what a time just for thankfulness and to pray for those that were injured, pray for those that died. But also a time to reflect and be thankful for first responders and just pay tribute to America and the kindness of our country and the help of healing, and so that's what we hope to do tonight," said Jerry Belanger, St. Mary's Cathedral School Principal.
Father Matthew Wigton stressed that they are family and a tragedy makes them stronger as a community.
“Rally together to be together as a family and that's already happened so much with so many people coming to help and we're just to do it in a faith filled way," said Father Matthew Wigton.
