A new piece of Gucci jewelry is integrating fashion into the new frontier of health and wellness.

Today, the fashion house announced a new partnership with Ōura, the Finland-based company that developed a "smart ring" to provide customers with personalized health data and guidance. Enter: the Gucci x Ōura Ring, which is designed with Gucci's iconic interlocking G logo in 18-karat yellow gold. A braided torchon pattern also wraps around the black PVD-coated titanium band, making this more than your average health accessory.

The ring is installed with Ōura's Generation 3 tech, featuring a suite of advanced research-grade sensors that can read various body vitals and subsequently distribute personalized health metrics. A press release notes that the ring's sensors have a "much stronger signal than wrist-based wearables" that provide similar health statistics.

The data captured by the Gucci x Ōura Ring ranges from heart and respiratory rates to temperature in order to target the potential effects of stress or illness on the body. The ring also includes a sleep analysis function that tracks the quality of sleep based on the vitals and time spent in each stage of sleep.

Every day, the personalized metrics are then translated and summarized into different scores alongside insights that advise wearers on how to optimize their health—all of which can be accessed through the Ōura app.
