Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street star Georgia Taylor has revealed more on Imran Habeeb developing a conscience in the ongoing custody battle for baby Alfie.

Georgia's character Toyah Habeeb is currently unaware that her husband Imran recently used dirty tactics in his dispute with Abi Webster, lying in court that she was back on drugs.

Abi has struggled to clear her name ever since Imran bribed dodgy Ben Chancellor to lie under oath.

However, in upcoming scenes, Imran realises that it's time to come clean to Toyah and the courts after his former foster daughter Kelly Neelan confronts him about his immoral behaviour.

Speaking to Digital Spy and other media, Georgia explained: "Imran is still carrying the weight of what he did. Imran is not an out-and-out villain. He's made some extremely questionable choices, but he's not a bad person through and through, even though he's got flaws.

"Imran gets to a point where he decides to come clean to Toyah. It's all to do with Abi having this plot to kidnap Alfie. When Toyah finds out, she says she'll go to the police, but Imran knows he has also done something bad.

"Then there's an internal battle for Imran. He needs to stop Toyah going to the police, so needs to 'fess up.

"That starts off a chain of events, where we find ourselves in this incredibly dramatic week. How is Toyah going to react when she finds out this news?"

Asked whether Toyah would like all three of them to co-parent Alfie, Georgia replied: "For Toyah, some sort of shared custody would be the perfect outcome – she would still very much be a part of Alfie's life as his stepmum and there to support Imran, but she wouldn't have the guilt of essentially feeling like she's taking a baby from his mother.

"Her conscience is wrestling with this at the moment. It's difficult as Imran is single-minded and thinks Alfie is better off with them, as Abi can't be trusted.

"So even Toyah and Imran aren't actually coming from the same place. Toyah has to navigate that at home and maybe there's tension between the two of them because of that."

Corrie bosses have confirmed that next week's episodes include a dramatic car crash for Toyah and Imran, which will have major consequences in the weeks to come.

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV and streams on the ITV Hub.
