Liverpool Fans 'Concerned' With Sadio Mane's Response When Reporter Asks Question About His Future

Liverpool Fans 'Concerned' With Sadio Mane's Response When Reporter Asks Question About His Future

Sadio Mane will only answer questions about his future after the Champions League final on Saturday

Bayern Munich have placed Liverpool star man Sadio Mane at the top of their wish list for the summer transfer window.

The Senegal international has been linked with a move to the German champions in recent weeks, with Bild reporting that Mane’s agent have met in Mallorca with Bayern officials to discuss a potential transfer.

Mane has now thrown his future at the Anfield club up in the air after a cagey answer when asked about his future during Liverpool’s open training ahead of their Champions League final on Saturday.

The 30-year-old said: “I think the question is a very good question, for now it’ll be difficult for me to answer.”

“But for sure I am very focused on the Champions League. Ask me the question after the Champions League, I will answer you.”

The Senegalese’s contract is due to run out at the end of the 22/23 season, and Liverpool could be prepared to cash in on the front man if a new contract cannot be agreed between the two parties. It would be disastrous for Liverpool to lose Mane on a free when his current deal expires.

Bayern could well be in the market for a prolific attacker as Robert Lewandowski’s future remains uncertain, various reports have linked Lewandowski with a move away from the Bavarian club, with Barcelona in pole position to snap up the man who has scored 35 goals in the Bundesliga in the 21/22 campaign.

Bayern’s chief Hasan Salihamidzic and manager Julian Nagelsmann believes that a ‘statement’ signing would soften the blow of losing Lewandowski, and Mane for sure fits the bill.

Even if Lewandowski decides to stay with Bayern, the club are still interested in brining in Mane, with the view of using him in the wide areas to support the striker.

Since his arrival from Southampton in 2016, Mane has been a star for Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool, scoring 90 goals in 196 appearances in all competitions for the Reds.

Many Liverpool fans will be sad to see Mane leave, but only time will tell whether the winger will stay or make the move to a new club.

Liverpool now have one last chance to end their season on a high, Real Madrid stand in their way as Klopp looks to bring home another Champions League trophy for the club.
