The Elbert County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a shooting suspect: investigators say 21 year-old Malik Watkins shot and wounded two people last weekend in Elberton. Watkins was, at last report, being held without bond in the Elbert County jail.
A grand jury in Hartwell hands up indictments in the case of Maurice Norwood: Norwood (pictured above) was arrested earlier this month and charged in the murders of 25 year-old Alexius Spencer and 26 year-old Jerece Teasley, both shot and killed at a home in Hartwell on May 8. The Hart County Sheriff’s Office says it is still unclear on what led up to the shootings.
