The Atlanta Hawks are heavily rumored to be in the market for a second star to pair with Trae Young this NBA offseason. Just don’t expect anyone to hand one to them. 

That includes the Minnesota Timberwolves and their star center Karl-Anthony Towns. The Wolves just made their second playoff appearance with the former number-one pick in their uniform.

In all likelihood, they’ll be looking to build on that momentum next season. 

In other words, these scenarios project as unlikely. Still, every team has a price. If the Atlanta Hawks felt they needed KAT at all costs, they could make the Timberwolves an offer they couldn’t refuse.

Still, the cost of that offer may be prohibitive for the Hawks. Again: they probably won’t trade for Towns this summer. The pairing of Young and Towns is also fraught with defensive concerns.
