Lakewood Health System Launches ‘Walk with a Doc’ Program

Lakewood Health System is encouraging residents to take step to better health with a regular weekly event.

Walk with a Doc is an international non-profit organization whose mission is to inspire communities through movement and conversation. This Thursday, May 26th and every Thursday at 5:15 PM, Lakewood’s main campus in Staples will be encouraging area residents to take a step toward a healthier and better approach to physical health.

“This program has had tremendous participation and success in hundreds of cities around the world,” said Dr. Adrianne Moen, Lakewood family medicine physician, in a statement. “I’m very pleased to bring this exciting and simple program to Lakewood as it has shown such improved health results for countless people around the world.”

The Walk is open to the community. Participation is free and pre-registration is not required, but all participants will need to sign a waiver prior to walking. Lakewood Health System is asking all participants to meet outside the main campus entrance prior to the start of the walk.

Lakewood health providers will be joining participants on the walk and will be on hand to provide support and answer questions.
