After months of teasing new music, Kelly Clarkson dropped her first release of her upcoming “Kellyoke” EP. This singer’s upcoming EP is filled with her favorite tunes performed on The Kelly Clarkson Show. This EP releases to streaming on June 9.

Kelly Clarkson has officially launched her next power move in the music industry. After going viral countless times with “Kellyoke” sessions on The Kelly Clarkson Show, the talk show host has compiled six of her favorite tunes in the studio for a brand new release.

You Can’t Skip This Cover of Billie Eilish’s “Happier Than Ever”

On May 25, Clarkson announced that she will release a six track “Kellyoke” EP this summer. She celebrated the upcoming release by dropping the first track. Her powerful rendition of “Happier Than Ever” by Billie Eilish was first seen on the talk show in September 2021. Her original cover made headlines since it showed off her strong vocal range.

If you were impressed by Clarkson’s rendition on the talk show, you will love this single. My jaw immediately dropped when I heard this studio recording of “Happier Than Ever” for the first time. Clarkson’s added style plus her tonality makes this release so strong. Eilish’s version of this song contains a soft approach to the track itself, while Clarkson’s is power driven right out of the gate. Throughout the four minute track, her power builds up until the well known chorus line.

This impressive release amped up fan excitement for the upcoming EP. Other tracks featured on the EP are “Blue Bayou” by Linda Ronstadt, “Call Out My Name” by The Weeknd, “Queen of The Night” by Whitney Houston, “Trampoline” by Shaed, and “Fake Plastic Trees” by Radiohead. The highly anticipated “Kellyoke” EP drops on June 9 and is currently available for pre save on Apple Music and Spotify.

The segment Kellyoke began on The Kelly Clarkson Show as a nod to the singer’s years on the road. As a result, she incorporated her nightly fan cover request into a segment called “Kellyoke” on the talk show. At the beginning of each episode, she performs a different song picked by an audience member. Since the series began in 2019, Clarkson and her band has performed over 500 songs on the series.

The first release from “Kellyoke” comes merely weeks before The Kelly Clarkson Show migrates time slots on NBC. In early June, the talk show will move from the 2 p.m. ET time slot to the 3 p.m. time slot. Ahead of this point, the 3 p.m. ET slot had been held by The Ellen DeGeneres Show for countless years.
