Local students place in scholastic contest

Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilburton recently hosted the 42nd Annual Scholastic Contest, according to a media release.
There were 27 participating schools for 30 academic tests in three divisions.
Local winners for first, second and third place in each test included:
Algebra I: Division II; Second Place – Juan Martinez, Porum.
Business Mathematics: Division I;Third Place – Kylie Oliver, McCurtain.
General Science: Division II; Third Place – Drew Brown, Porum.
Oklahoma History; Division II; Third Place – Brayden Stinnett, Porum.
English Grammar and Usage: Division II; Second Place –Emery Arnold, Porum.
English Literature: Division II; Third Place – Jayden Carter, Porum.
