Coronation Street's Shelley King teases future of Yasmeen and Stu

Coronation Street actor Shelley King has opened up about a potential romantic relationship between Yasmeen Metcalfe and Stu Carpenter.

A former homeless man who's now living with Yasmeen and working at Speed Daal, things are looking up for Stu and King hopes the pair's relationship can blossom.

Speaking to Daily Star, King was asked about a potential romance storyline between the two characters and responded: "I think possibly!"

"Yasmeen is a mender, she’s a fixer, and I think that’s very attractive to her. He’s gentle, he’s human, he’s cuddly and Yasmeen wants to save him.

"I am hoping that Yasmeen will not be as tested as she has been in the past!"

King referenced her character's tough past when it comes to relationships and hopes that she can find happiness in the future, adding: "I think that Yasmeen’s had enough of a hard journey through her relationship life with her husband and her son who died, and now she’s met this gentle man who’s also flawed."

King also discussed another upcoming storyline involving Yasmeen and Stu, and Stu potentially reconnecting with his long-lost daughter Bridget.

After discovering that Stu was unaware he was a grandad, Yasmeen becomes determined to track down Bridget and reunite the family.

Discussing the upcoming plot, King shared: "I think that the best thing everybody can do is to see what happens. You know that Stu has a daughter, now you have to find out how that whole story evolves. And actually we have to find out as well, because we work very much on the cuff."
