Missing 4-year-old girl found in Nicholasville

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (FOX 56) – A missing child was found in Nicholasville Wednesday night.

Harriet Wlemus was found safe in Nicholasville after what a neighbor called a miscommunication led to a nearly eight-hour search.

A person who identified themselves as a family friend told FOX 56 that the 4-year-old was with a neighbor the whole time.

The Nicholasville Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing girl.

Authorities said they’re looking for 4-year-old Harriet Wlemus who is from the area of Faulconer Drive. She was last seen wearing a blue jumpsuit and a red shirt.

Wlemus has her hair braided with white beads, according to police.

Kevin Grimes with the Nicholasville Police Department said she hasn’t been seen since around 2 p.m. Wednesday. According to Grimes, Wlemus’ mother told someone to go get the 4-year-old for dinner around 6 p.m., and that’s when they discovered she was missing.

FOX 56 is on scene where there’s a large police and fire presence including the police department’s helicopter flying over. In addition, many people are walking around the area to search.

Police have asked those who live in the area of Squire Lake to check any video they may have.
