Rowan Pierce, Tim Mead Headline Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra & Chorale 2022 Summer Tour

The Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra & Chorale has announced its 2022 summer tour.

For the purposes of this article, our focus will be solely on vocal and operatic performances.

The season kicks off with Händel’s “Dixit Dominus” under conductor Richard Egarr at Hovingham Hall in York. The performance will also feature the National Youth Chamber Choir of Great Britain.

Performance Date: July 25, 2022

Next up is “Coffee Concert: Music for a While” with soprano Rowan Pierce. Richard Egarr plays the harpsichord in a showcase featuring music by Blow, Locke, and Purcell. The showcase will take place at St. Lawrence Parish Church in York.

Performance Date: July 26, 2022

Countertenor Tim Mead headlines “The Garden of Good and Evil.” Richard Egarr directs a showcase that will include music by Händel, Tarik O’Regan, and Errollyn Wallen. The performance takes place at St. Peter’s Church in Norton, St. Martin in the Fields, and at the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival in Connecticut.

Performance Date: July 20, August 2 & 17, 2022
