No. 9 seed FSU baseball (33-22) used an explosive offense to run-rule the No. 5 seeded UVA Cavaliers 13-3 in the ACC Tournament.

They’ll face Notre Dame next. The Noles jumped out to an early 1-0 lead behind a single from Jaime Ferrer and a double by Brett Roberts. Bryce Hubbart was solid on the mound early, holding the Cavaliers scoreless until the fourth inning.

However, the Noles had already poured it on offensively by that point, holding a 9-3 lead going into the fifth inning. FSU baseball had two more runs in the seventh and eighth innings to force the run rule. Hubbart completed four innings, allowing seven hits, three earned runs, four strikeouts, and no walks.

Wyatt Crowell completed the remaining frames, allowing three hits and six strikeouts with no walks. Several players had multiple hits at the plate. Tyler Martin, Jaime Ferrer, Brett Roberts, James Tibbs, and Alex Toral had two hits.

Colton Vincent finished the game 3-5. Alex Toral had a home run with four RBI, and Reese Albert hit his first home run of the season and had two RBI. Ferrer and Tibbs had two RBI, with Jordan Carrion and Brett Robets driving runs.

FSU baseball had 15 hits and five walks to aid in the onslaught. It was the first time the offense scored 10 or more runs since defeating Boston College 10-4 on May 7th. The Noles will take on Notre Dame Wednesday at 3 p.m.

Pitching ace Parker Messick will be on the mound for the Noles, who went eight scoreless innings with 11 strikeouts against the Irish when he faced them on April 1st. Notre Dame was one of two teams to sweep the Noles in ACC play.

Notre Dame is the No. 4 seed, and this will be their first game in the ACC Tournament. The game will air on the Bally Network.
