Sam Mitchell Medcalf getting little screen time on EE per episode?
Seems like she's shoehorned in for a few seconds then not seen again!
To be honest the scenes I enjoy most are with Sam and or Kat/Sharon. Reminds me of the golden days!
The rest of the cast and storylines I can take or leave 🤷🏼♀️
I'm slightly concerned they are not utilising her enough, or she does not have enough decent cast members to bounce off.
I was worried, along with others, that they may ruin the character, I'm still worried.

The storyline is ridiculous and repetitive so the less she appears the better
She kind of reminds me of Natasha in Corrie where she spent months just wondering up and down Coronation Street without actually going anywhere - she was just in the Street. I found that with Sam the last couple of nights. She just seems to wander aimlessly.
Even though her appearances have been fleeting over the last couple of weeks, at least she's still seen to be around rather than vanishing altogether and I've enjoyed seeing her interacting with a variety of characters. More often than not she's the highlight of an episode for me.
As per usual all this buzz and excitement occurs on the forum when a return is announced, only for it to decend into disappointment. We have seen this happen with many returning characters, including Janine.
People need to stop falling for the BS churned out by the EE PR machine and come to the realisation that the return will likely fall flat after a relatively short period of time.
I think they have tried to make Sam a combination of Roxy/Ronnie rather than bringing back the character she was.
Massively agree with this and I think it was always going to be the case. We've had Daniella, Kim, Daniella and Kim again and they were played so so differently. I know Kim's 'Sam' in her first stint wasn't always prim and proper, grown up and such, but the getting back from a night out, short skirt Sam that exited the taxi in yesterdays ep, really reminded me of Daniella's portrayal of Sam Mitchell.
Maybe this will be a good thing and we'll see a nice mixture of the 2 versions of Sam, but it is a little disappointing as I feel there was a lot of growth in the character during Kim's first stint and now it seems a bit of a confused mess.
It IS however still early days and maybe they're reluctant to have Sam come back and dominate the screen. We have a lot going ATM with Stuart, Mick impending departure, Ben's endless S/L's, Linda's ongoing alcoholism Jean's endless S/L, Bernie & the baby...
Maybe there are better things to come as Sam settles in a bit more.
It has been anticlimactic, especially with how it was sold by TPTB but as someone commented above, this is always the way they do it.
I think it's a difficult situation in terms of writing. I agree that Sam went on a real journey of character growth in Kim's first stint, but that all went completely out of the window when Danniella came back in 2009 (and her subsequent returns). It was incredibly jarring and it was like they'd simply forgotten all about everything that happened to Sam from 2002-05. For me I'd have had similar issues if Sam had returned and immediately reverted to Kim's previous characterisation of her. I think at the moment they're getting the balance just about right.
Class 😂
Tuesday - Last 10 seconds of the show.
Next Episode - People wondering why she is back alongside needless filler. Sam might get 5 minutes overall.
Next Episode - Sam will feature but nothing significant will occur. Likely gets the last scene.
Week After - Will need to leave to sort things out off screen and will be back shortly.
Week Three - Returns and the cycle starts again. Throw in a stunt and a revelation. Then the character will need a "rest" to start her actual planned story.
Week Six - Finally starts to appear in the regular. Aim is directionless for a fair few weeks.
Week Ten - Sam Mitchell is back to stay... After a break.
