DETROIT (WWJ) – A student has been arrested after a video surfaced on Tuesday showing him pointing it at another student, apparently inside of a Detroit classroom.

Marygrove High School officials say they received a video from a parent on Tuesday – the same day an 18-year-old gunman opened fire at a Texas elementary school, killing 19 students and two teachers – of the incident.

The video allegedly shows a Marygrove student with a gun inside a classroom at the school. In the video, the student points it at another student and tells them to dance, with several people laughing during the incident. That student runs away as the gun is pointed at them.

School officials say the student was taken into custody after being identified as the teen in the video.

It was not clear whether the gun was real or an airsoft or BB gun.

Officials say the student will be removed from the school.

There was an extra police presence at the school on Wednesday, with officers performing random backpack searches.

Authorities have not released the age of the student.
