Police say alternate routes are advised after a serious multi-vehicle crash in near Belton, Missouri Wednesday afternoon. On Northbound I-49 near 163rd Street at approximately 1:34 p.m. today, the Belton Police Department received a call regarding a multi-vehicle crash. When emergency personnel arrived, they learned of multiple crashes involving six semi-trucks, an animal transport trailer, a wrecker truck, and a Ford Explorer. Some vehicles either slid off the roadway to avoid a collision or struck another vehicle. Several of the semi-trucks are still in the median but off the highway. These trucks will be towed after rush hour traffic at approximately 8 p.m. Wednesday evening.
