Dinosaur Island: Explore animatronic dinosaurs at Ohio zoo
for such *** big guy that T. Rex's arms are comically short. But have you ever wondered why? Well, researchers from UC Berkeley may have *** theory and it's almost as funny as the T. Rex's arms, author of the paper. Integrated biologist Kevin Petitjean believes it could have to do with accidental bites. The T. Rex's jaw is sort of its defining feature, but its size may have meant it could have been *** danger to both friend and foe. With the studies suggesting the arms were short to protect them from accidental bites from family and friends. Here's how *** in describes it in the new study. What if several adult tyrannosaurs converge on *** carcass? You have *** bunch of massive skulls with incredibly powerful jaws and teeth ripping and chomping down flesh and bone right next to you. What if your friend there thinks you're getting *** little too close? It might warn you away by severing your arm. So it became evolutionarily beneficial to keep your digits away from your food, where hundreds of foot long teeth were chowing down. Petitjean says the trick now is to find some evidence that might support this hypothesis saying T. Rex fossil records could reveal less bite marks on its tiny arms versus the rest of its massive body.
