Dinosaur Island: Explore animatronic dinosaurs at Ohio zoo
Dinosaur lovers can explore more than 17 animatronic dinosaurs at an Ohio zoo's Dinosaur Island.
Dinosaur Island opens at the Columbus Zoo on Friday and runs through October 30. Dinosaur Island will take guests back 65 million years where they will get to experience the animatronics, which are made of steel with urethane waterproof skin.
The dinosaurs have eyes that shift, tails that move, mouths that roar and electronic “brains” that activate and control their movements and sounds. Guests can explore the dinosaurs by feet and by a boat ride.
Columbus Zoo officials say the event is for all ages, whether you know a lot about dinosaurs or are discovering dinosaurs for the first time.
Guests will need a special admission ticket to enter Dinosaur Island that is not included in zoo admission. Tickets for Dinosaur Island cost $3 for general admission, $2 for Columbus Zoo members and free for Columbus Zoo gold members.
