Joseph Morgan Addresses Possible Return in Legacies Finale: ‘Everyone Knows Klaus Mikaelson Is Dead’
Legacies has brought back more than a dozen fan-favorite characters from the Vampire Diaries Universe during the course of its four seasons. But has it been saving its biggest cameo for last?
Joseph Morgan — whom fans have begged to appear on Legacies since its premiere, despite his character dying in the series finale of The Originals — took to Twitter on Wednesday to address the rumors that Klaus will return for Legacies‘ June 16 series finale.
“First of all, I haven’t seen any cast from the TVDU in years, not in person at least, I promise you that,” Morgan tweeted. “All this speculation is gonna drive you crazy. Let go of these nonsense theories about hidden codes, Everyone knows Klaus Mikaelson is dead.” It’s worth noting that the tweet was formatted in such a way that the first letter of each new line spelled out “finale.”
Morgan followed that tweet up with a video, which fans are naturally taking as further proof that Klaus is coming back. His wink at the end isn’t helping, nor is the fact that the first letter of each sentence in the video spells out “Legacies.” Watch for yourself:

Morgan played Klaus, a vampire-werewolf hybrid, for more than two seasons on The Vampire Diaries (2011–2013) before bringing him over to The Originals for another five (2013–2018). Klaus made a return of sorts in a Season 4 episode of Legacies, when it was revealed that the Mikaelson family used magic to collect his ashes.
Following The Originals‘ conclusion in 2018, Morgan has appeared on TNT’s Animal Kingdom and Peacock’s Brave New World. He’ll next be seen playing Brother Blood in the fourth season of HBO Max’s Titans.
On the topic of Legacies‘ finale — which was written to serve as a potential series finale — series creator Julie Plec teased a few “surprises for long-time #TVDU fans that may just blow your mind.” A cameo from Klaus would certainly do just that!

Can’t watch the video right now but just reading the words, damn that comes off harsh as hell. I was kinda hoping for a Klaus cameo, maybe him at peace with Elijah or something but I guess that’s not happening lol. But I’m still holding out hope for Caroline.

I don’t even go here anymore but he legit spelled out legacies with the beginning of each sentence.
Okay so first off he says he hasnt seen a tvd cast member in person in years but that isnt technically true, he lives with one in persia white who was bonnies mom and he has had facetime chats with daniel gillies
but even more so maybe this will finally get people to lay off julie plec and brett matthews, like they deserve their fair amount of constructive criticism for the writing but they should not be at fault for joseph not appearing, especially julie, she has made it clearer than crystal she has welcomed the door for him to show up, its joseph being the one who said yeah screw it im not coming back yet people want to give hate to her on social media cause they view him as a god, same for like dylan o brien, they wanna blame jeff davis cause dylan made the choice not to return for this upcoming movie, I dont get how logic has become so twisted in some fans eyes
But even as a huge fanboy to klaus, I could live without him showing up in legacies but what has bothered me the most throughout the past 5 years is joseph continuously used the excuse oh klaus died therefore he cant show back up which I am scratching my head in both confusion and anger cause first off klaus could appear as a ghost, he could appear as a hallucination and yes he could appear in a flashback so this idea that klaus automatically cant appear cause he died in physical form is asinine.
Just as a speculator on the outside I can only assume joseph got tired of playing the character, I think he hated it, he originally did not want to play some anti hero, he wanted to play klaus as a villain with a tragic past but I dont think he had ever wanted a redemption arc and I think the klaroline stuff got out of hand and he didnt want to put up with that anymore either. Im not saying this is what he thinks as some fact nor am I saying he didnt appreciate klaus but I do think he got tired of him and is just making excuses why he wont return, he’d have more respect if he just came out and said look guys I got bored with klaus I dont want to return, end of story.
And yes I am aware joseph could be lying due to NDA rules, that happens all the time, for example I think tom ellis had to lie when he was asked if he would show up in the crisis arrowverse crossover but he did appear after all so in 3 weeks we may very well see him return but Im not holding my breathe.
Silently and ridiculously hoping for that hail mary Klaroline endgame most of all. It would be nostalgic to see them interact again whether romantically or helping each other in some way. Yes, I know he’s dead, but how many dead characters came back for whatever magical reason? Or a ghost or flashback I suppose? Idk either way, this caught my attention! :)
Im not sure how that would even play out, a klaroline scene cause there could very well be fans who had never even seen the previous 2 shows and legacies was their first time so it be like out of nowhere.
All Im going to say is if this is true and he is coming back I am beyond thrilled cause it was something I never thought would happen, I said yeah maybe he would change his mind but I came at it with a 1 in a million attitude so we might be looking at a miracle return

believe or not I know fans want him to interact most with hope and caroline and that is probably whom he would interact with most but honestly I’d rather him have interacted off clarke, aurora, ken, malivore or necromancer, those are my dream interactions, same for kai and klaus interaction.
An interaction with Caroline would just ruin the finale. Klaroline fans would just make it all about the ship forgetting that this is complete ending of all 3 shows with no come back. Like the finale of the originals. People talked more about the ship than Klause dying or the family breaking up. It should just be an OG PLATONIC meeting. Its best to have Klause for his daughter. I don’t care who else he interacts with, I just don’t such a long awaited moment to be ruined by Klaroline shippers. A ship i never understood why persons was so obsessed with. Klaroline was with Stephan longer and they even got married. She and Klaus only flirted with each other for like one season in TVD, then he had his show which she never guest star in.
Anyways, thats that. If Klause shows up, I will be happy. If he didn’t then it was already expected.

Klause will be back on June 16th. Landon will be bringing him back across. Think about it, was there really any point to the whole Landon becomes the ferryman arc? It was all put in place so he can restore Klause to life (not sure it’s called life when he’s a vampire, but whatever)

I agree, the peace comment n wink sealed it for me. I will literally cry tears of joy if that man shows up.. let alone Elijah too.. omg. I also thought about the possibility of Elena n/or Damon showing up, since they are alive in the legacies universe but I’d be way less inclined to believe they would show up vs. Hope’s family. I am very sad to see the show end what feels like too soon, when it was finally getting good, but I hope they go out with a bang either way.

I’m pretty sure the character that’s returning for the finale is Caroline, since the actress was recently in Atlanta and was apparently hinting at it during the recent convention.

Hasn’t anybody or anyone see a preview of Legacies episode on YouTube where Luke Mitchell is playing Ken aka: Zeus fighting Hope Mikaelson aka: Tribrid (Vampire, Werewolf & Witch) all of a sudden when Ken thinks He defeated Hope while She’s on the ground really badly hurt and injured also Ken is about to stab Hope in the Heart with the weapon forged by Piper Curda aka: Jen or Hephaestus? Then You hear a hell saying “Get away from Her!” which in turn it’s Klaus Mikaelson Hope’s Father alive and kicking also well because the Family collected all of His ashes by magic which means the Family phrase also crest motto “Always And Forever” stands!!
Pretty much confirmed he will be back. I wouldn’t be surprised if they get a ton of cameos from TVD and Originals. Might see Elena or Damon, probably see Bonnie and Caroline. Klaus and Elijah as well. For a season finale they probably wouldn’t bother, but for the series finale of the last TVD universe show, I can see the cameo machine being set to overdrive.

I need my Niklaus back and I want him back now! I believe that we may see him, he’s hints are subtle but there. And he is not annoyed at all, he is toying with us. I love my Joseph Morgan and watch him in other shows now, and I am praying he does make that appearance, it’s what we need for closure for sure!
I would be so happy if Klaus made a cameo in the show! I have been waiting for that to happen since Legacies started! I would also be happy to see other characters like Damon, Elena, Elijah, etc.!!!
I am really heart broken to see the show cancelled though! It deserves another season or two at least and is my only favorite show on the CW currently airing. But if they give the series a great finale with Klaus and other characters returning , I would be so happy to see that happen at least!

I loved Joseph Morgan as Klaus the very first time he was on TVD!Then TO,and what a fantastic actor he is! I was so sorry TO ended so soon! It should’ve gone another few seasons!
