The Baltimore Ravens' offseason has been a successful one, as the team landed one of the best free agent safeties in Marcus Williams, while re-signing key members of the defense, such as Calais Campbell and Tony Jefferson. In the draft, Baltimore landed one of the best players on the board, safety Kyle Hamilton, and a talented offensive player in center Tyler Linderbaum, in the first round alone. However, one item remains on the to-do list: the contract extension of star quarterback Lamar Jackson.

The Ravens have expressed their interest in extending the former league MVP, though Jackson hasn't engaged in any contract talks with Baltimore. The star quarterback also made it known that he was frustrated with the team's trade of his friend and favorite target, Marquise Brown. Add it all up and there's certainly some tension between the two sides.

With OTAs kicking off on Tuesday, Jackson has noticeably been absent from the voluntary workouts, which he had attended in past years. Ravens head coach John Harbaugh was asked about why Jackson wasn't present at OTAs- and he provided this reaction, per the Baltimore Sun and Pro Football Talk.

“It’s up to him to speak for himself,” Harbaugh said, via Jonas Shaffer of the Baltimore Sun.

Harbaugh said that “it's up to Jackson to speak for himself.” The Ravens head coach clearly is putting the ball in the star signal-caller's court, given the efforts Baltimore has shown in their efforts to re-sign Jackson.

While nothing but a new contract may come of Jackson's OTA absence, it's definitely notable that there seems to be a disconnect between he and the organization at the moment.
