A 36-year-old man was shot in the head in Las Cruces on Tuesday, according to the Dona Ana County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies were dispatched to the Dove Canyon Mobile Home Park on South Main Street around 8:59 p.m. where they found the man with a gunshot wound.
Deputies said he was unable to provide information about how he had been injured, but witness statements revealed the victim had been shot.
After the shooting, two men dressed in black were reportedly seen running northbound on South Main Street, according to the sheriff's office.
The victim was airlifted to University Medical Center in El Paso.
Detectives are investigating the shooting.
