The Las Vegas Raiders are looking into more players to round out their roster after making some massive offseason splashes. One such player is free-agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Kaepernick is scheduled to work out with the Raiders. CBS Sports' Josina Anderson and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport added that the workout is scheduled for today. It will be his first workout with an NFL team in years.

Raiders owner Mark Davis has previously made it clear that the team is fine with signing Kaepernick, who was blackballed by the NFL after his peaceful protests against racial injustice. Even as he continues his social justice initiatives, he has looked to get back to the league.

Kap recently completed a workout with current Seattle Seahawks wide receivers Tyler Lockett and Aaron Fuller, though the team has not made a move to sign him. The 34-year-old Kaepernick is adamant that he can make a team better. His mobility, experience in the playoffs and ability to protect the ball make him a solid candidate to be a backup QB.

The Raiders have had Derek Carr under center for nearly a decade and Jarrett Stidham and Nick Mullens to back him up. Colin Kaepernick still has a long way to go before truly making it back to the big leagues. His workout with Las Vegas, though, is a huge step in that direction.
