Sing 2

These days, parents are desperately searching for any animated kids film coming to streaming to keep their children occupied. Following the recent news that Sonic the Hedgehog 2 has arrived on Paramount+ comes the announcement that the highest-grossing kids film of 2021 is also coming to streaming. And the good news is it's coming to the one you probably already subscribe to.

Sing 2 is coming to Netflix, the company revealed on Wednesday. Subscribers can start streaming it on June 22, and according to a deal between Universal-owned Illumination Entertainment, it will stay on Netflix for 18 months, meaning it will leave Netflix on Dec. 22, 2023. That will give your kiddos plenty of time to memorize all the lyrics to "Where the Streets Have No Name," one of the many featured songs on the soundtrack.

The Best Movies on Netflix to Watch Right Now

Sing 2 was released in theaters on Dec. 22, 2021, and is the sequel to 2016's Sing. The jukebox musical follows a group of singing animals trying to make it on the big stage as they look to impress entertainment moguls with a show-stopping musical. It's loaded with talent, including Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, Scarlett Johansson, Taron Egerton, Pharrell, Nick Kroll, and more.

As for Sing 1, well, it's a bit more difficult to stream. It's not currently on any subscription streaming service, but you can rent it on VOD in the usual places, like Apple, Amazon Prime Video, and VUDU.

Sing 2 comes to Netflix on Wednesday, June 22.
