PD: Man charged with murder following Milford shooting

MILFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — A man has been charged with murder following a fatal shooting in Milford on Wednesday afternoon.

Police said just before 1 p.m., officers responded to a fight and the report of gunfire on Edgefield Avenue. When officers arrived they located a victim who had sustained a gunshot wound to the upper body.

The victim, identified as Justin Spray, was brought to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Officers also located the suspect, identified as Matthew Miner, who police say was detained by witnesses of the incident. Police were able to locate the handgun on the scene.

Miner was charged with murder, criminal possession of a firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit, and altering/removing identification marks on a firearm. He was held on a $1 million bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday morning.
