Emmerdale's David confides in Eric with secret struggles

David Metcalfe is set to confide in dad Eric Pollard amid his secret financial struggles on Emmerdale.

Fans will see David propose to Victoria Sugden on tonight's (May 25) episode – even after warnings from his father, who suggests he may be rushing things.

Despite the advice, David decides to go through with his plan and pops the question to her with a romantic surprise in the woods. How she will respond remains to be seen.

In follow-up scenes airing next week, David and Victoria face a potential hurdle ahead, as David is unable to bring himself to reveal the truth about his financial issues to her.

Instead, he decides to talk to Eric about it, revealing that the pandemic has made a big impact on his business at the local shop.

Will Eric manage to work out a way to help his son, and will David be able to finally open up to Victoria about his situation?

David and Victoria's romance started last year as he fell for her amid his relationship with serial killer Meena Jutla. Following the latter's attempts to draw a wedge between the two as well as two failed attempts to kill Victoria, she is now behind bars for her many crimes.

In other Emmerdale news, Faith Dingle is set to get a new ally amid her cancer storyline. While the cancer has returned, Faith is yet to tell Cain and Chas – only confiding in Moira.

However, during a chemotherapy appointment, one resident overhears Faith lying about Cain and Chas' whereabouts, though gets reassurance from them.

Emmerdale is set to air these scenes next week.
